27th Entry (LCD) Journal as of the 8th day of December, 2012: Schematic sequences of Events

This last school week, we held our school's field trip. It was'nt  that much as compared to the last year's trip, but neverthelessits a little worth it. While at the bus, I temporarily ut my trashes in my bag or pocket in order to help maintain its cleanliness. I also reduced the use of electornic gadgets and instead rest while on the road to our destination spots to conserve and accumulate energy likewise.
Before the trip, the week staryed busy as when the field trip was yesterday. I helped clean mother nature by sweeping the floor, and maintain its light by watering the plants and picking up trashes that are scattered everywhere and then dispose them wisely. I also turn off the lights and fans when not in use for in this way, I help conserve energy.
I sure hope that I hezlped clean Mother Nature this last school week.

11/30/12 Low-Carbon Diet (LCD) Journal Entry# 26 "A Clean, green week"

This last schoolweek, we were asked to do many things concerning our traits and environment, and how to weigh them emotionally and socially. This November, we celebrated it as the annual Values Month, which means we get to participate in various contests and tasks. Well, yeah, It has been a busy week, and I am exhausted physically and emotionally. But still, I do not forget to clean my environment and help nourish it. Iwatered the plants regularly to help sustain the light of Mother Nature. I swept the floor and picked garbages lying on the floor to the trash bin. In this way, I do not only helepd Mother Nature to be clean, but alsoto stay brilliant and wonderful.
i sure hope that I helped clean Mother Nature this last tiring week.

11/25/12 Low-Carbon Diet ( LCD ) Journal Entry# 25 "Research Topics "

This last school week, we were asked by our research teacher tosearch for appropriate research topics to discuss on. And heres what ive searched, -what are the current challenges of every university libraries operations and how can they be met? -what can be obtained in fluency with practice? -what are the effects of technology as it progresses? - which is better, old or new lifestyles that are dormant now in the present? - what are the pros and cons of centralized technological processes? - what does the influence of change bring to the harmonious relationship of mankind and their thinking line?
As for my eco friendly acts, I helped in cleaning the environment by sweeping the floor, watering the plants, and turning off lights and fans when not in use. I also refrained from using the computer quite often to which I may nstead use a book for references and school researches.
I sure hope that I helped clean Mother Nature this last fun yet tiring week.

11/18/12 Low-Carbon Diet [LCD] Journal Entry #24: " A clean, green week "

This last school week, our teachers announced that the school will be having the annual Christmas celebration to be held on this December. Christmas is coming fast. Children are heard caroling every silent night. As Christmas is fast approaching, card giving also became a common cheer. In relation to that, recyclable materials are scattered everywhere. So, in order to maintain Mother Nature's cleanliness, I helped in picking garbages and disposing them properly in a trash bin. If the garbage are recyclable, I put them in a sack for later use. At home, I refrained from using electric fans and aircons for the air whirls a sense of Christmas spirit, in other term, coolness.
I sure hope that I helped clean Mother Nature as efficient as I can this last school week.

Insights and Reflection about the poem "Desiderata", written by Max Ehrmann

" If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself."; a line taken from the poem that lied amidst the unknown until now. Everyone has their distinct characteristic. As said, different paths to happiness has been forge for each one of us to walk on. Some maybe longer than the other, while the other may have been taking the pleasure of life which made it shorter. Some are taking you within the winding fate; as other may dive within the depths of despair. Neither way, we all but end in one same dream, our desired happiness. Why compare our weaknesses and strength among other that we may instead walk the path worryless and free? Many people think lowly as for themselves; as other prefers to be higher than the other. Would this make any difference? No. Well, it would if you concentrate too much about it. We are unique in terms of our own capabilities, and so are they. As such, why not suggest camaradery and walk unto the happiness whole accompanied?
While walking towards the ultimate dream, enjoy each success and achievement you have gained, as well as your mistakes and failure, accept them as they may. If ever it comes to the point you have gained much of what you've expected, bow your head and smile together with others. Remember the Pliant Bamboo that sways and bows it's trunk just to live and surpass the windy road. Otherwise, you would have been the source of despair and wind for others that may eventually fall and lose hope.
As you gain much experience, to the point that such challenges urges you to take the tempting sway of change, Do not. Be yourself as the poem suggested. You do not need to change in order for someone to accept you or neither do the circumstances. Be who you are, so that when you reach your dream, you shall feel a sense of fulfillment, analogous to the feeling when you first started walking unto the road.
Never lose faith unto the Lord while walking amidst the uncertainties. The Lord has sent you to fulfill your goal as such, you shall give your glory to Him forevermore. Whenever you encounter deep seas of dissapointment and sadness, don't lose hope. The Lord will never give you a challenge not suited for you. Cheer up, and face such sequence of events.
And last, what I learned from the poem, is that while you are still walking on this beautiful world of ours, never fail to smile and be happy. Do what you can to achieve your ultimate goal. "Strive to be happy", as the poem says.

11/11/12 Low-carbon diet (LCD) Journal entry# 23: "Fun yet tiring week"

This last school week, we were told to do many school works and activities; which in turn, made me feel that they really paid off my hardworking and perseverance in my studies. Aside from the activities, I also helped in cleaning mother nature in ways such as not littering anywhere and instead dispose trashes properly on any trash bin nearby.  Alternatively, I also kept my trashes in my bag temporarily whenever a trash an is out of sight or is unavailable; hereafter, then I dispose them properly and whenever I can, recycle them by putting it in a sack container for future use. At home, I refrained from using electric fans and aircons for the weather was cool enough. Whenever I brush my teeth,  I don't forget to use a glass in order to prevent further water spillage.
I sure hope that I helped clean mother nature as efficient as I can this last tiring yet wondrous week.

11/04/12 Low-Carbon Diet [LCD] Journal Entry #22: "Reminiscing Whats Lost"

This last week, we visited the grave of our beloved grandfather. We stayed there for almost a day, just to let ourselves feel the memories our grandfather has left for us to cherish. We played small games while we're there in order to diminish the sadness the atmosphere brung as we reminisce the past. After that, we went home. But! there are many garbages scattered all over the place so we might as well take the chance to clean it again.
Before this day, particularly at school, I helped in cleaning the environment by recycling the garbages thatt is reusable by putting them in a sack for later use. I also watered the plants inorder to help maintain nature's beauty. At home, I refrained from using any fans or air cons for the air itself was cool enough. I also use a glass whenever I brush my teeth in order to prevent further water spillage.
I sure hope that I helped clean Mother Nature even by the smallest point of mean to do it this last week.

10/28/12 Low-Carbon Diet [LCD] Journal Entry #21: "Sembreak"

This last school week, we only attended school for the first 3 schooldays. The other 2 was considered as our "Sembreak" or others would rather prefer to call it as a "Long weekend". Nevertheless, sembreak or not, I will never forget my obligation to help clean Mother Nature.
This last school week has been a rainy one, which prompted me to avoid using fans or airconditioners for the air was cool enough. Our environment was damp due to the continuous rains; which I, thereafter, cleaned by sweeping the run off and/or rain water from the ground, thus avoiding and preventing the further manifestation of the Dengue carying mosquito; which are fond of places with stagnant water.
I sure hope that I helped cleaned Mother Nature as efficient as I can this last school week, erm, sembreak, I mean.

10/20/12 Low-Carbon Diet [LCD] Journal Entry #20: " Another Clean, Green Week"

This last school week, we were told to do many school activities. Our teachers also announced and let us recheck our papers in their respective tests per subjects. We also made many projects which includes the use of colored/non-colored papers, leaving left cut-outs to be scattered everywhere. So, in order to clean the surroundings and help recycle materials for future use, I helped in picking up papers and wrappers which I, then, put in our recycling sack whenever I can. By that, I hit 2 goals with only 1 act. (Or maybe 2 interrelated acts...)
At home, I also refrained from using fans everytime the weather is cool enough. I also use a glass whenever I brush my teeth in order to prevent water spillage. I also take the time to record and alott my time whenever I use the computer as efficient as I can.
I sure hope that I helped clean Mother Nature this last rather tiring week.

10/14/12 Low-Carbon Diet [LCD] Journal Entry #19: "Examinations Week"

This last school week, we held our quarterly exams; which was divided into 2 days, Friday and Saturday respectively. Due to these tests, my mind was exhausted. But, my body isn't exhausted enough to still help Mother Nature. I practiced eco-friendly acts at home during every half of the examinations period for the tests days are cut in half also. I also helped water the plants which furthermore, helps in lifting the lost glimmer of light within Mother Nature. I also did not forgot to recycle my trashes by means of putting them in a recycling sack whenever its avalable. I also make use of fans efficiently for the weather was surprisingly hot. I also planned the time I alotted to use the computer to help save electrical energy. And, I also used cups/glasses whenever I brush my teeth to avoid unnecessary water usage.
I sure hope that I helped clean Mother Nature as efficient as I can this last week.

10/06/12 Low-Carbon Diet [LCD] Journal Entry #18 "Teachers' Week"

This last school week, we held our world teachers' day celebration. We practiced hard during some of our classes just to perfect the presentation that we gave yesterday (October 5). And this means that trashes and garbages are scattered all over our surroundings again due to out practicing material needs and card-making leftovers. So, I related my past learnings about eco-friendly activities such as the 3 R's [Reduce, Reuse, Recycle].
I picked up some garbages I have seen lying on the floor whenever I can. I also make the extend of which I recycled some of the garbages from the card-making such as colored papers for later use.
I surely hoped that I helped clean Mother Nature this last school week as efficient as I can.

09/30/12 Low-Carbon Diet [LCD] Journal Entry #17: "Intramurals"

We held our annual Intramurals/Intrams this last school week. Many of us are eager to show their skills and partake in the succeeding events. Even though we did not had any or some of our classes are interrupted due to the said events, I still continued to learn to discipline myself with how serious and how concern am I when the topic's on about the cleanliness of Mother Nature.
Many of our school players practiced hard during school hours, which also means that garbages are rampant and are literally seen lying everywhere, anywhere. So, instead of doing nothing and sit all day 'round, I helped picking garbages and then disposing them properly in the trash bin. I also helped clean my environment by sweeping the floor and [maintenance of Mother Nature] -watering the plants. At home,  I refrained from using fans/aircons for the air is cool enough  and the wind was blowing hard. I also use a cup when brushing my teeth to avoid unnecessary water usage.
I surely hope that I helped clean Mother Nature this last week.

09/22/12 Low-Carbon Diet Journal Entry #16: "A normal yet fun week"

This last school week, we had many activities done and school works to be accomplished, even though many of our teachers were not around due to their contests. We crafted many projects; thus, trash/garbages are to be found everywhere. And I, as a proud steward of Mother Nature, did not forget to practice eco-friendly acts such as picking up garbages and disposing them properly; segregating trash if proper trash bins are observed, and by recycling trash that can be reused.
I sure hope I helped maintain the cleanliness of Mother Nature as efficient as I can this past week.

09/15/12 Low-Carbon Diet [LCD] Journal Entry #15 " A tiresome yet eco-friendly week"

This last school week, many of my classmates were busy preparing for their respective contests. Some prepared for the English Olympics with their "Jazz Chants" while some are preparing for the incoming intramural. Meanwhile, back in our classroom, many of our class teachers were not around  preparing for the intrams and other contests. While they're not around, I still did not forgot to practice nature-friendly activities such as not littering trash anywhere, watering the plants and cleaning our surroundings. At home, whenever I brush my teeth, I use a cup when rinsing to avoid unnecessary water spillage. I also avoided the use of electric fans for the air itself is cool enough these past few days for it is rainy.
I sure hope I helped contribute to the cleanliness of Mother Nature even by my small yet efficient and practical ways.

09/09/12 Low Carbon Diet [LCD] Journal Entry # 14: "A Busy Yet Nature Loving Week:

This last school week, many of our class teachers are away due to important matters like attending scholastic contests and interscholastic ones. While they're gone, I practiced eco-friendly acts like watering the plants, segregating wastes if proper trash bins are observed, cleaning the surroundings and recycling plastic bottles by putting them in the sack wherein the III-A students would pick them up regularly.
I also helped conserve electrical energy by turning off lights and fans when not in use and by turning off the computer after researching/searching for school works.
I sure hope I helped contribute to the maintenance in terms of cleanliness of Mother Nature.

09/06/12 Insights and Reflections about the term "Tropical Storm Signal"

Today, I have learned that...
             - Tropical Storm Signals are the precautions and notes that citizens in one particular area may or shall I say, "must" heed in relation to that it indicates the strength of the storm coming to the said area; hence, being able to prepare and evacuate if certain factors got worse.

II. I will apply my learnings about...
            - Tropical Storm Signals and the factors that triggers it to raise the alarm level.
III. Learning about this certain precaution is important because...
-By this, I can be knowledgeable of what's going to be the effects of a particular storm heading to our area and likewise, be ready for it.

IV. On a larger scale, I will share my learnings on these phenomenons because...
-In spreading this knowledge, we can tighten our bonds with others by alarming them about the storm and it's indicated signal level to refer to their safety.
V. I need to know more about...
            -  Tropical storm signal level factors and what triggers it to raise it's level significantly.

09/01/12 Low-Carbon Diet [LCD] Journal Entry #13: "First Day of September, A Clean Day to Remember"

Today is the 1st day of september; and this is one of the best day to begin rejuvenating Mother Nature's lost light. Today, I am planning to clean my surroundings, starting with out house. I want to start my day with helping sweeping the floor and watering the plants.
This last school week, our classes was, then again, interrupted due to the NCAE Examination of the higher year levels, particularly the 3rd and 4th year students. But, while some of our teachers are gone, I still practiced eco-friendly acts while they're not around like putting trash everywhere to the trash bin and if can, segregate it.
I sure hope that I helped maintain Mother Nature's cleanliness through the efficiency of my small practices.

08/28/12 Insights and Reflections about the term "Tropical Cyclone"

     Today, I have learned that...
             - A Tropical Cyclone is a storm system characterized by a low-pressure center and numerous thunderstorms that in time, produces strong winds and heavy rainfalls. Tropical Cyclones is also said to grow in terms of strength when water vapor from the ocean is released as the saturated air rises, eventually leading to condensation of water vapor contained in the moist air produced.

II. I will apply my learnings about...
            - Tropical Cyclones and different factors that affects the said phenomenon's strength in terms of rainfall duration and count, likewise.

III. Learning about this phenomenon is important because...
            - In this cases, we may relate our past learnings, particularly about LPAs, ITCZs, Monsoons and other atmospheric phenomenons, on whether the said calamities do affects or it, itself is one of the factors of which affects the strength of Tropical Cyclones in a specific duration of time over a particular area.

IV. On a larger scale, I will share my learnings on these phenomenons because...
-By this, I can spread the knowledge of which may come in handy, practically during these said phenomenons, in terms of awareness and readiness.

V. I need to know more about...
            -  Tropical Cyclones and the factors that we may consider that affects it's strength and otherwise, it's subsidence.

08/25/12 Low Carbon Diet [LCD] Journal Entry # 12: Tiring yet fun week"

This last school week, we held many school activities involving about Nationalism/ "Pag papahalaga sa sariling nasyon" by starting off with our country's soul (Wika). After the said succession of events, trashes were scattered everywhere near our room for the events took place near our room area. Thus, by considering the fact that we also help to save Mother Nature even by the smallest mean to do it, I helped in cleaning the said area wherein the evnts took place. I also disposed my grabages properly, whereas I segregate my wastes accordingly. I also refrained from using fans during cold nights to save electricity.
I surely hope I helped in saving Mother Nature as efficient as I can.

08/19/12 Low Carbon Diet [LCD] Journal Entry #11: "A clean, normal week"

This last school week, we had many school activities done and still some are even apparently doing it now. Even though it is only the start of the second grading period, our subject classes teachers gave us, II-A students, a big surprise for the said quarter. Nevertheless, I still did not forgot to help save Mother Nature even by the least to most efficient way to do it or contribute to it.
I still did not forgot to practice some activities to help lessen energy consumption, and some of the alternative ways to do so.  I always turn off the light and fans when they are not in use. In cool nights, I just let the cold wind to reduce and replace heat in my room.I also do not use fans when the air is cool enough. When using the computer, I take the time to rush my research or assignments that relies on internet connection to shut it down and help lessen our monthly electrical bill.
I surely hope that I contributed to the conservation of Mother Nature as efficient as I can.

08/12/12 Low Carbon Diet (LCD) Journal Entry #10: "One Heavy Monsoon week"

This last week, the tropical monsoon "Habagat" surprised all of us, Filipinos, from the strength it showed us and the cataclysmic effects it has brought to our country. Many places in Luzon, particularly the lower ones, were flooded unexpectedly. Some areas even experienced human-height floods and furthermost, other areas were flooded exceedingly among other places. Yet, no cataclysm may stop me from helping to save Mother Nature even if Mother Nature itself is pushing us down in means of such phenomenon called Ecological Backlashes, which we may say is happening now.
I still practices some eco-friendly acts that may help to save mother nature even by little means of not using any fans or cooling appliances for the air itself is cool and humid enough, I also use a glass in brushing my teeth in order to minimize unnecessary water loss/spillage.
I do hope I help to save Mother Nature this rather stormy week.

08/03/12 Low Carbon Diet [LCD] Journal Entry #9: "Decisive yet fun eco-friendly week"

This last tiring week, we took our quarterly Periodical Exams. I was very exhausted both physically and mentally. Also, I were to lie if I say that I am no longer tired and exhausted. But still, I managed to get through the week while also considering Mother Nature's cleanliness and conservation.
Even though I spent the week mostly reviewing my notes, I still did not forgot to help sustain and maintain the order and cleanliness of Mother Nature. Every time I review, I turn off any other materials and appliances that may disturb/hinder my review of my past learnings.I also do not simply throw the papers I use when mistakes and errors are observed on my answer sheet. Instead, I put it in the sack container where it will be donated to the III- A students for recycling matters.

I surely hope that I helped to save Mother Nature even by my small ways of doing it.

07/29/12 Insights and Reflections about the term "Low Pressure Area (LPA)"

 Today, I have learned that...
             - Low Pressure Areas or simply LPA are particular regions in the earth that are currently experiencing sudden drop in atmospheric pressure at sea level. They form under areas of wind divergence which occur in upper levels of the troposphere. The formation process of a low-pressure area is known as cyclogenesis. Within the field of atmospheric dynamics, areas of wind divergence aloft occur in two areas.
II. I will apply my learnings about...
            - Low Pressure Areas and certain factors that strengthen the said phenomenon that may eventually lead into the formation of storm within the expected area.

III. Learning about this phenomenon is important because...
-In these cases, we can be informed regarding these circumstances that we might experience hence, we may take the time to prepare if ever LPAs reach or may affect our locality/area; and also by this, we can gain the knowledge on how Low pressure areas may strengthen and whether it will develop into a storm.

IV. On a larger scale, I will share my learnings on these phenomenons because...
            - By this, We can be informed about the factors that affects the formation of Low Pressure Areas and how it's effects ca be minimized by preparing for it in terms of readiness.
V. I need to know more about...
            - Different factors that may affect the formation of Low pressure areas and its effects.

07/27/12 Low Carbon Diet [LCD] Journal Entry #8: "Nutrition for Humans and likewise, for Earth."

This last school week, we held the nutrition month appreciation program and contests. Some of my classmates participated in the said event under the cooking field. Even though we didn't won the contest, we still learned and at least practiced earth-friendly habits during this event.
When we participated in the contest, particularly on the poster and slogan making ones, the paper/cartolina/illustration boards that we used did not went to waste when it is considered only as a draft. Instead, we donated the papers to the III-A students; while recycling the Illustration Boards and Cartolinas as a fundamental material in our class projects. This way, we help to lessen the rate of need, particularly on papers that are produced by cutting down trees.
I surely felt that I helped to save Mother Nature even by the smallest mean/s in doing it.

07/20/12 Low Carbon Diet [LCD] Journal Entry #7: "Human and Earth Nutritional Needs Reflection week"

This last school week, we were asked to do many activities concerning about the nutrition month. We held contests of different variety in certain fields to express our innermost thoughts about the nutrition month. But! Didn't we know that not only we, humans, need sufficient nutrients and acts to survive, but also Mother Nature, who helps to sustain us. So here are some ways on how I can help meet the needs of Mother Nature.
I always remember not to litter garbages anywhere. I also advice my fellow students to just keep their garbages if ever a trash bin is out of sight. I also help nourish Mother Nature by helping in planting trees and watering the plants. I also limited my electrical "needs" as low as I can.
I surely hope that I help to nourish Mother Nature in simple yet efficient ways.

06/22/12 Low Carbon Diet Journal (LCD) Entry #3: "A normal yet clean-green week"

This last school week, we had many activities in our school class. My mind is pretty much exhausted from activities and quizzes that must be done. But! Even I was a bit troubled with school works every while, I still do not give up for in this way, I help in repaying my debts to my parents. So do when I clean my environment this week to repay Mother Nature's kindness.
I always conserve water when it comes to times when it is needed such as brushing my teeth, in terms of using a cup to fill in the water instead of letting the faucet drip with water at a great loss. I also cleaned my environment in ways of dusting the floor, watering the plant and by not littering anywhere.
In these ways, I show my appreciation to Mother Nature for it's kindness and generosity.

07/14/12 Insights and Reflections about the term "Tropical Depression"

 Today, I have learned that...
             - Tropical Depressions are an organized system of clouds and thunderstorms with a well-defined circular motion that has no "eye". I had also learned that tropical depression is one of the so-called terminologies for a tropical cyclone. I also learned it's root origin and it's sub-details which proves to that it has a relationship with other weather circumstances such as ITCZs and monsoons.

II. I will apply my learnings about...
-Tropical Depressions and its specified effects and its inverse terminologies in terms of its effect to a certain communities' lifestyle and livelihood.

III. Learning about this phenomenon is important because...
-In this way, I can be fully aware of its effects thus, relatively be particular to this phenomenon such as future application of this new found knowledge; furthermost, I will be able to prepare and minimize the down effects of this phenomenon accordingly in terms of safety.

IV. On a larger scale, I will share my learnings on these phenomenons because...
-By this, not only I will be fully aware of these events and circumstances but also every one who must said to be concerned on how will they react and know the solution in the likeness therefore, reducing this phenomenon's destructive effect unto certain fields such as ecology and any other under its domain.

V. I need to know more about...
            - Tropical depressions and factors that may and surely affect the variation of tropical depressions in terms of its strength and likewise its weakness.

07/13/12 Insights and Reflections about El Niño and La Niña

 Today, I have learned that...
             - El Niño and La Niña greatly differs from one another.  El Niño is a phenomenon wherein a specific place is observing a change in weather and humidity; particularly getting hotter and may furthermore, experience drought. While in La Niña, it is completely different. In places wherein La Niña is observed, individuals there experiences sudden drop in temperature  henceforth, may lead into series of rainy days and flash floods.
II. I will apply my learnings about...
            - La Niños and La Niñas and their inverse effects respectively to each other in terms of knowing and determining on when these phenomenon will happen thus, preparing for such events.

III. Learning about this phenomenon is important because...
-In this way, we can relate these' phenomenon's effects on our daily lives therefore, may force us to vary our lifestyle while these phenomenons are observed in your region. we also may take the time we had before these phenomenons happen to prepare for such effects.

IV. On a larger scale, I will share my learnings on these phenomenons because...
            - It is essential when these phenomenons occur; we may be able to prepare for such devastation these might bring to us; or if cannot be avoided, perhaps minimizing the bad effects of these circumstances will also do good.
V. I need to know more about...
            - El Niño and La Niña and its relationship with monsoons and ITCZ in terms of its effects.

07/13/12 Insights and Reflections about the term "Monsoon".

I. Today, I have learned that...
             - Monsoon is a traditionally defined weather term, where as it's definition is that of "a seasonal reversing wind accompanied by seasonal changes in precipitation. I also learned that monsoon arrival are varied from seasons hence, literally affects particular weather cycles such as what we call as "wet" and "dry" cycle. I also gained the knowledge of it's etymology, to where it has been derived, pro founded the depths of it's origin and details on its founder.
II. I will apply my learnings about...
-Monsoons and it's specified effect on a particular place, conditional time and state. Thus, being knowledgeable of its arrivals and its departure.

III. Learning about this phenomenon is important because...
-In these ways, I became physically and socially aware of it's effects and alteration of the weather therefore, being able to prepare for these circumstances whenever we observe such changes in the sky and weather.

IV. On a larger scale, I will share my learnings on these phenomenons because...
            - When these phenomenons are as to be expected in relation to the daily weather forecast brought by a reliable source such as PAG ASA, we may be able to prepare and minimize the below effect of monsoons.
V. I need to know more about...
            - Monsoons and it's relationship to ITCZ in order to be AWARE and ACQUAINTED in terms of it's effects.

07/07/12 Low Carbon Diet Journal (LCD) Entry #5: "Wise electing, wise decision, wise environment, no regrets"

This last school week, we elected our own governor, vice governor and every other position under it's domain. Voting wisely here is certainly a must, for our school level province/divisions environment cleanliness highly depends on them, well also, depends on us, too. So here are some of my simple means of helping to nurture and save Mother nature.
I always dispose my wastes/ garbages properly, whether in terms of the policy, "Keep if cannot dispose properly", which refers on being wise in disposing garbages. I also helped maintain the population of plants by planting some this weekends. I also helped to clean my surroundings by simply dusting the floor and walking instead of vehicles.
This is what I call " One Giant step for earning ", the title, "guardian of nature" with diligence and wisely. I certainly do not feel any remorse with what I have done.

06/29/12 Low Carbon Diet Journal (LCD) Entry #4: "The benefit of making steps"

This week is pretty harsh compared to the previous ones before. We ran a 1 kilometer run during our P.E Class, which prompted my legs to hurt after. But, this also made me realize something to help Mother Nature in such means that I don't need to conserve energy, and at the same time, reduces smoke emitted in the air.
And this idea I thought is to walk instead of using smoke inducing vehicles if it is just a walking distance. I also consider in this idea I thought, that I also helped reduce the burning of fuels/oil, which is a natural source of mineral/energy that cannot be replaced. I also saved money for not using vehicles.
I hit many goals (approx. 4) in just one act! I surely hoped that I helped to safeguard Mother Nature.

06/22/12 Low Carbon Diet Journal (LCD) Entry #3: "Clean election week"

This week, I helped to maintain the cleanliness of my surroundings and to help prevent the destruction of mother nature.
We held the election of club officers just this day, putting our 4 hours of study into electing purposes. But of course, I won't stand the whole election hours without food and water, so I decided to go get myself some. After I savored the food I ate, it's time to put the leftovers/plastic container into the trash can. But! there are no trash bins in sight! And it is hard to go up and down the preliminaries of the said meeting in the grandstand, so I decided to keep my trashes inside my pocket; in addition to that, I also helped and donated my plastic trashes to the hands of III- Ssc [A], for recycling means and purposes.
I surely felt like I am a step closer in earning the title "Steward and the guardian of our Mother Nature".

06/15/12 Low Carbon Diet Journal (LCD) Entry #2: "The ironic statement"

These past few days, I remembered an ironic statement I found on a social networking website stating that, "I'm not lazy, I'm just conserving energy", and this prompted me to think an idea, whether this statement tells that he is conserving his own energy or just plain lazy to do homework using the computer nor reference books, therefore, conserving energy (electricity).

That's why I decided to lessen the use of computer in doing homework and instead use books to conserve energy. I also limited the time I allotted to use the computer in case that it is really a need. In these ways, I hit 2 goals at the same time. I helped my parents to lessen the electricity bill; and I also helped conserve energy. And one thing's for sure, I do not regret on doing these things for by these simple means, I recognize myself as a true steward of Mother Nature.

06/09/12 Low Carbon Diet Journal (LCD) Entry #1: "The first entry, the first step for change"

This week or rather this last school week, we were asked to record our daily activities that concerns about the environment, whether we helped to clean our surroundings or not. And these are the following activities that I, as a student, helped to save the environment even by the smallest point of means by to clean it.
Even though this week is harsh, I did not forget to help clean the environment in a way that I, as a student, is efficient. I did not litter my trash anywhere, for I temporarily keep my trashes in my bag if a trash bin is either out of sight or unavailable. I also refrained from using spray-structured material for when these materials are used, it increases the rate of destroying the atmosphere, considering those smoke-inducing means of transportation. I also became aware of using unnecessary energy, such as electricity, which led me to process some practices at home and school such as "Turn off all appliances and unplug them after use."
I surely hoped that I contributed this week some help to save Mother Nature.

Insights and reflections about the term ITCZ [Intertropical Convergence Zone]

I. Today, I have learned that...
             - ...learning the term ITCZ and it's definition is important for use to be aware of it's causes and it's effect for future application; such circumstances are when we either watch or search a particular weather forecast, we may be able to form a tentative idea on what is causing the weather in a specific location to change suddenly (probably sudden rainfalls and strong wind gusts), which we can refer to the word ITCZ in terms of it's effects.

II. I will apply my learnings about...
            - ...ITCZs in ways that I gain the knowledge of whether the sudden rainfall is the effect of a nearby ITCZ or not, thus the statement might result either way according to the phenomenon.

III. Learning about this phenomenon is important because...
            - ...in this way, we can be aware of what's causing our weather to change, and be particular to the said phenomenon when it happens again.

IV. On a larger scale, I will share my learnings on these phenomenons because...
            - ...by sharing this kind of knowledge about weather disturbances, we can increase the awareness of our own fellow citizens and friends, hence gaining the time to prepare for such phenomenons and likewise, may lead to our own safety during these said events.

V. I need to know more about...
            - ...different factors that leads to weather disturbances such as ITCZs not only to gain new knowledge but also to be aware and safe,in the like, when these phenomenons occur.
